« Peindre l’invisible » est un voyage fascinant dans l’esprit créatif d’un peintre, celui de Pierre Parsus.
Sans concession, il a consacré toute sa vie à la peinture et a constitué durant 80 ans une œuvre foisonnante et diversifiée dans laquelle il a abordé une vingtaine de thèmes, certains classiques comme « Les Paysages », « Le Corps féminin », les « Autoportraits », d’autres plus personnels, comme « L’Orient », « Gloria », « L’Alchimie », les « Allégories », voire plus intimes, comme « L’Enfance », « Chers visages », « Lucette », « Les Anges ».
Ce film de Raymond Achilli, à travers le récit vif de Pierre Parsus, nous dévoile le parcours de cet artiste parisien qui vit aujourd’hui dans le Midi à Castillon-du-Gard. Il nous révèle les grandes périodes de sa vie artistique et met en lumière le processus de création, véritable corps-à-corps de l’esprit avec la matière. Il nous dévoile aussi l’évolution de son œuvre qui progressivement est passée du figuratif au spirituel, du visuel à la vision pour emprunter une voie mystique où la peinture est devenue une prière…
Pierre Parsus a peint des milliers de tableaux, d’aquarelles et de dessins exposés en Europe et aux Etats-Unis ; des illustrations des Géorgiques de Virgile, de Regain de Jean Giono, de L’Œuvre poétique de Georges Brassens, des vitraux de l’église Saint-Joseph des Trois piliers à Nîmes, des fresques, des embellissements d’espaces publics etc.

Painting the invisible is a fascinating journey into the creative mind of the painter Pierre Parsus who, without concession, devoted his entire life to painting. Over the course of 80 years, he created a prolific and diversified work in which he tackled about twenty different themes ranging from classics such as “The Landscapes”, “The Female Body”, the “Self-portraits”, to more personal ones such as “The Orient”, “Gloria”, “L’Alchemy”, the “Allegories », to even intimate works such as « Childhood », « Dear faces », « Lucette », and « The Angels ».
Through the lively narrative of Pierre Parsus, this film, directed by Raymond Achilli, presents the career of the Parisian artist who now lives in Castillon-du-Gard in the South of France. The painter reveals us the major periods of his artistic life and sheds light on the creative process, which appears to be a real hand-to-hand combat of the spirit with matter. He also unveils the evolution of his work which gradually moved from the figurative to the spiritual, from the visual to the vision, to eventually take a mystical path where painting became a prayer …
Pierre Parsus has produced thousands of paintings, watercolors and drawings exhibited throughout Europe and the United States; illustrations of Virgil’s Georgics; Jean Giono’s Regain; Georges Brassens’ Poetic Work; stained glass windows for the Saint-Joseph of the Three Pillars church in Nîmes; frescoes; embellishments of public spaces, etc.
